Kuwait has been experiencing widespread destruction since dawn today, with many military sites and security facilities now out of service. Some Kuwaiti officials are no longer at their government offices for fear of bombardment, while a large flow of thousands of Kuwaiti vehicles is currently being observed leaving the country through the Al-Ruqi/Al-Khafji border crossing.

The United States has not fired a single shot in defence of Kuwait, despite the security agreements and protection and arms contracts that have been in place for decades.

The Iranian strikes on Kuwait came after the United States launched dozens of missiles from Kuwaiti territory towards Iranian infrastructure. Military bases in Kuwait have also become launch points for US fighter aircraft and logistical operations against Iran.

Kuwaiti citizens have criticised the use of Kuwaiti territory as a logistical hub for US forces, saying that the United States launches attacks from Kuwait but does not defend it when retaliation is directed against it.

Kuwaitis have also said on social media that the US Patriot missile systems in Kuwait are defective, claiming that more than one missile was seen falling to the ground after being launched.
