Saudi Arabia announced through its state television that it had received information indicating that Iraqi tribes were on the verge of launching an attack on Riyadh.
The Saudi announcement confirms the failure of Saudi attempts to persuade the Iraqi tribes to accept money in exchange for relinquishing their demands for revenge for the blood of their sons who were killed in Saudi air strikes on government military headquarters in Iraq.
Saudi Arabia found itself in a serious crisis with the Iraqi tribes after killing and injuring dozens of Iraqi citizens in its strikes on Iraq last month.
Saudi Arabia sent numerous envoys to Iraq in an attempt to secure concessions from the families and tribes of the victims, but the Saudi efforts failed. Iraqis said during demonstrations held several weeks ago that money would not be a substitute for the lives of their innocent sons whom Saudi Arabia had killed.
