Pakistani Prime Minister Mian Sharif said this morning that his country had received generous funds from Saudi Arabia, referring to money sent to Pakistan in exchange for protection.

Sharif made the statement after a farewell meeting with the dismissed Saudi ambassador, Nawaf al-Maliki, this morning at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Pakistanis commented that the Prime Minister knows nothing of Saudi Arabia’s virtues other than that it “pays money”, which they said was a severe criticism of it.
