According to the information, and based on scrutiny of the intensity of communications being conducted by the team of Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, the head of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham militia, he has still not received the money he was promised by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Because of his urgent need, Jolani was forced to visit Saudi Arabia on 21 April, where he demanded that Bin Salman fulfil his promises. However, he has received nothing so far. Jolani’s visit was followed by further pressure attempts by militia officials, aimed at reminding Saudi ministers and officials of the promises they had made during their visits to Syria — promises that have still not been fulfilled.

Over the course of one month, the Saudi side was contacted through:

• The Minister of Housing.
• The Minister of Health.
• The Minister of Foreign Affairs.
• The Minister of Finance.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham received no positive response from any of these officials.

Is Turki Alalshikh the saviour?

Jolani sent several messages to Turki Alalshikh, attempting to entice him with the “Syrian market for games and entertainment”, but Alalshikh showed no interest.

Jolani thought and believed that Turki Alalshikh wanted an official reassurance from him that he was open to the “project of indecency”. He therefore organised the performance of the sexually explicit and indecent song “Work It” by American singer Missy Elliott at the basketball hall in Damascus. Alalshikh also ignored Jolani’s indecent message.

Since December 2024, an agreement was reached between several countries under which power in Syria was handed over peacefully to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which is affiliated with Turkey. However, the country’s resources were soon transferred into the hands of Jolani’s family, including Maher, Hazem and Jamal.
