The Ethiopian Embassy in Riyadh said in a statement issued several hours ago that it had recorded cases of deaths which it described as horrific, as a result of clashes between members of the Ethiopian community in Saudi Arabia following disputes.

The embassy indicated that Saudi authorities had arrested more than 100 Ethiopians who had filmed and posted images of the clashes.

Ethiopian activists said that skirmishes initially broke out between members of the Ethiopian community on one side and Saudi forces on the other, before later escalating into bloody clashes among members of the community themselves, following mutual accusations over what had happened with the Saudi forces.
