Alberta Premier Danielle Smith faced questioning in parliament on Tuesday amid suspicions of a corrupt relationship with the Saudi government.

Smith was asked about her trip to Riyadh — fully funded by the Saudi government — in what was described as a breach of established protocols.

The Canadian lawmakers who questioned Smith said the trip appeared suspicious for the following reasons:

▪️ The visit served Saudi interests rather than Canadian ones.

▪️ It remains unclear what Smith was doing in Riyadh.
