The Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh said a short while ago that it would begin receiving complaints and requests for advice from Kenyan workers living in Saudi Arabia regarding their labour rights on a daily, continuous basis, in order to address any problems they may face at an early stage before they escalate.
The embassy’s decision comes in response to reports from Kenyan human rights organisations regarding its failure to adequately follow up on violations suffered by Kenyan workers in Saudi Arabia.
In its notice to citizens issued a short while ago, the embassy said: “Your concerns matter. Your voice is heard. We are committed to serving Kenyans in Saudi Arabia.”
It added: “We are here for you. We are here to serve you.”
