Several Asian countries rejected Saudi Arabia’s request to receive oil shipments from the port of Yanbu, which is subject to Yemeni sanctions. These countries said they would not violate the ban imposed on Yanbu, as doing so would put public safety at risk.
Countries including Japan and South Korea asked Saudi Arabia to transfer the shipments to the port of Sidi Kerir in Egypt, from where they would take delivery.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia was forced to reduce its price to Asia to the lowest level in order not to lose business with these countries.
