The UK Foreign Office has advised British nationals to leave four regions of Saudi Arabia and not to travel to them. It has marked the following areas in orange on its map of Saudi Arabia, describing them as high-risk:
- Jizan
- Najran
- Asir
- South-western Ahsa
The British travel advisory comes days after tensions escalated between Mohammed bin Salman and Yemen, following reports that Mohammed bin Salman had withdrawn to an underground bunker and had refrained from receiving visiting dignitaries above ground, including the Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary. He has also reportedly cancelled all of his scheduled appointments, meetings and engagements.
