The US-based Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced a short while ago that it has cancelled its event in Jeddah that had been scheduled to take place on Friday, 19 June.
In a statement, the organisation said it had decided to postpone PFL MENA 10, without providing any explanation for the decision.
Cancellation Just Two Days Before the Event
The cancellation comes only two days before the scheduled date, suggesting the existence of a significant issue. Otherwise, the decision would likely have been announced at an earlier stage.
Second Cancellation
The cancellation of the Jeddah event follows the cancellation of another event that had been scheduled to take place in Al Khobar on 8 May.
At the time, the company that owns the league issued a statement regarding the cancellation of the Al Khobar event that closely resembled the statement released today concerning the Jeddah event.
A number of international sporting and investment-related events in Saudi Arabia have been cancelled or postponed since February, resulting in substantial losses for the Saudi government.
